This weekend @ Waterfront
Ink Slab will be hosting a relief print workshop this Saturday as part of the WaterFront Craft Art Festival. Participants will be able to carve their own lino cuts and these will then be printed using a steamroller. An alternate relief print activity will be available for young children. All materials will be provided, and the workshop is free. The workshop will take place at River Landing from 10 - 5 Saturday, June 8th. Recent prints by members of Ink Slab will also be on display.

Call for vendors: Broadway Art Fest 2013
"The BBID is pleased to announce that the 8th annual
Broadway Art Fest 2013 will be taking place on Saturday, June 22nd,
10am - 5pm. New to Art Fest this year is a complete street closure!
Given the growth of this festival, for the first time, Broadway Avenue
will be closed in order to showcase the very best in local art. We will
also have an all new "Kids Kraft Zone" to ensure kids have the
opportunity to participate in the festival, and showcase their talents.
Broadway
Art Fest 2013 will celebrate Saskatoon’s visual arts community by
showcasing various local artists, artwork, and art organizations along
the sidewalks of the district. With a focus on engaging people of all
ages with various visual arts media, this festival will provide patrons
with the opportunity to observe, buy, discuss, and even create art.
Once again, Art Fest will include a Broadway district sidewalk sale,
and a silent auction featuring various types of local art. "

New Exhibition at Void Gallery
** Void Gallery is a wonderful space (small but mighty!) located in the basement of the same building as 8th St. Comics - entrance on the East side of the building. Here is the latest about their new exhibition:
From May 2nd - June 2nd,
void will be showing Fair and Square by Ink Slab Printmakers. Formed in
2010 to provide a publicly-accessible printmaking studio and to build
the printmaking community in Saskatoon, Ink Slab Printmakers completed
set-up of their downtown studio in 2012. Their first exhibition since
being able to start expanding their membership, this show exhibits the
growth and diversity these new members have brought. Many of the prints
follow a 15" x 15" format but with no conceptual restrictions, allowing
each artist to show work representative of their current practice. More
information can be found at: www.voidgallery.ca/inkslab or on the Facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/ events/331571053636697/. The reception will be Friday, May 24th, from 7 - 9 pm. All are welcome to attend.

Springtime Market, 2013
Our Springtime Market was a huge success! We had record numbers of people come through the sale and an extraordinary amount of handmade talent. We owe big thanks to all our wonderful vendors, our volunteer crew who are an enormous help, and to all of the finest people in Saskatoon who come out to support us each and every sale! Honestly, we can't say enough about the excitement and kindness that this city offers us. If you are trying to contact a vendor from the sale, or see something in the photos here that you would like to inquire about - please have a look back through the vendor profiles that make up the last several posts, you should find what you're looking for.
Flock and Gather takes a bit of a break after each sale - but keep up with us for crafty happenings! Thanks Saskatoon!
